Lois J. Clark

Lois J. Clark, 88 of Grand Island, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island.



Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Central Nebraska Humane Society.



Lois was born on May 17, 1956 in Spring Ranch, NE to Ward and Gladys (Hlauaty) Ziggafoos. She grew up in Pauline, NE and graduated from Fairfield High School (in 1942) and Grand Island Business College. She moved to Grand Island in 1942, and had lived here since then.



Lois met the love of her life, Augustus Bud Clark at the Grand Island Army/Air Force Base, where she was a secretary. They were united in marriage on June 4, 1945 in Reading, PA. She worked for Travelers Insurance for 20 years. She retired from the State Patrol Office after working there for 12 years. Bud preceded her in death on May 29, 2013.



She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Faith Circle of the Church, and Truth Rebekah Lodge. Her hobbies include ceramics, sewing, playing cards, canning, and gardening.



Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Deines of Grand Island; son, Steve W. Clark of Grand Island; 2 grandchildren and their spouses, Deborah and Shawn Pollock of Papillion, NE and David and Kelli Deines of Clive, Iowa; five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Hunter, and Skyler Pollock of Papillion, NE, Mia and Drew Deines of Clive, Iowa.



Lois was preceded in death by her husband Augustus Bud Clark; parents; and brother, Alan Ziggafoos.
