Kathryn "Katie" M. Trausch

Hastings resident, Kathryn (Katie) M. Trausch, 91 passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Premier Estates of Kenesaw.



Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, April 14th, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 12, 2016 from 8 am to 7 pm and Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 8 am to 7:30 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with family present from 5 pm up till rosary time. Rosary will be at 7:30 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the Apfel Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings, is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to St. Michaels Schools.



Katie was born October 23, 1924, in Lawrence, NE to Valentine and Mary (Beran) Svoboda. She lived in Lawrence and graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1942. On November 22, 1949 she married Ervin (Bud) Trausch. They lived on a farm near Roseland for 24 years; in 1973 they moved to Hastings where Katie resided until her death. Katie was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling with Bud in their RV and attending dances. Bud passed away in January 1999.



One of her greatest joys was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.



She is survived by her children and spouses, Edward (Linda) Trausch of Hastings, Gary (Margaret) Trausch of Juniata and Betty (Chuck) Wells of Ashland, NE, Grandchildren and spouses, Chad (Leah) Trausch, of Juniata, Todd (Avril) Trausch, of Lincoln, Jodie (Blake) Alexander, of Lincoln, Scott (Angie) Trausch, of Hastings, Tami (Josh) Borer, of Omaha, and Brad Trausch , of Lincoln, Great Grand Children, Libby, Jack, Annie and Elin Trausch, Jadon Trausch, Parker and Lauren Alexander, Grant and Morgan Trausch and Olivia and Kinley Borer, brother, Norbert (Fern) Svoboda, of Grand Island, Sister and Brother -in-Law, Susan and Harry Thaut, of Hastings and brother in-law Vern Trausch, of Phoenix, AZ.



Katie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ervin Bud, four brothers, Frank, Clem, Louis and James Svoboda and one sister, Rose Wynn.
