Hastings resident, Joseph W. Stewart, 83, died, Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the St. Frances Medical Center, Grand Island, Ne. Services will be Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 2 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Glenvil, NE with the Rev. Jeff Glawe officiating. Private family burial at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, May 19, 2008 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Joseph was born, December 10, 1924 to Joseph G. and Alma (Price) Stewart in York County, NE. He served in the Army Air Force from 1943 to 1951. He married Irene Kamper, on August 4, 1961. He was a truck driver and construction worker. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Glenvil, NE and a lifelong member of the VFW, Hastings, NE. He is survived by his wife Irene, of Hastings, NE, 2 daughters, Ronna Fredricks and husband Paul of Glenvil, NE, and Melanie Randall and husband Scott of Grand Island, NE, 1 son Ron Stewart of Medical Lake, WA. 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren. 2 sisters, Joan Hendrickson of Shickley, NE, and Dorothy Ferrell of Marianna, Florida. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, Michael and Lonnie. Memorials may be given to the family.
