Jerry Lee Oliver

Jerry Oliver, 63 of Columbus and formerly of Shelton died February 3, 2016 in Columbus. Services will be Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Shelton United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Schwarz officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 PM on Sunday at the church. Memorials have been suggested to the Shelton High Booster Club. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Jerry Lee Oliver was born March 13, 1952 to Elton and Lillian Oliver at Kearney. He was a graduate of Shelton High School. He was united in marriage to Grace Ann Van Winkle on June 13, 1970; to this union, a son, Scott was born. He was employed by Frontier, retiring in 2014. He was united in marriage to Cyd Hedrick on June 21, 2008 in Shelton. He was a member of VNEA as well as the Columbus Pool Community. He was an avid outdoorsman, gardener and baker. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving man, a friend to everyone around him.



Survivors include his mother, Lillian Oliver; wife, Cyd Oliver; son, Scott (Jeni) Oliver; grandson, Zachary Oliver; granddaughter, Kelsey Oliver; Grace Ann Oliver; a sister, Judy (Dennis) OBrien; his cousin and best friend, Mark Oliver; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a multitude of friends near and far. He was preceded in death by his father, Elton Oliver; uncle, Ben Oliver; paternal and maternal grandparents; and great-niece, Ariel OBrien.
