Jason Andrew Gawrych

Jason Andrew Gator Gawrych, 39 of Grand Island, died Sunday, August 14, 2016 at CHI Health St. Francis, Grand Island, NE.



Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. Luke Biggs officiating. Burial will be in Cameron Cemetery, Wood River. Visitation hours will be 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Apfel Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.



Jason Andrew was born June 28, 1977 in Grand Island, Nebraska the son of Sandra (Harder) Gawrych. He grew up in Grand Island and received his education in the Grand Island Public Schools.



He was united in marriage to Ammie Wieck, in Hastings, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island where he was employed by Appalachian Railcar Services.



Jason was an avid Husker and Cubs fan. He enjoyed time in his garden but his most favorite times were with his beloved daughter, Nadia at Davis Creek fishing for walleye and what ever was biting.



He attended Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island.



Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Ammie Gawrych of Grand Island, one daughter, Nadia Gawrych of Grand Island, his mother, Sandra Gawrych of Grand Island, three brothers & sister-in-law, Jim Gawrych of Minneapolis, Roland & Heather Gawrych of Grand Island, Chad Gawrych of Grand Island, one sister and brother-in-law, Christina & Michael VanHorn of Papillion, Nebraska, nieces & nephews, Brittany, Brandon, Mya, Aysha, Alex, Jaxson, Trentin, Jazmyn & Jacquelyn; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins. .
