Georgia L. Vanlaningham

Hastings resident, Georgia L. VanLaningham, 88, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, NE. Memorial service will be Friday, October 19, 2012 at 3 pm at Parkview Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. There will be no visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, in Hastings, NE. Georgia was born September 21, 1924 to George and Electa (Huletz) Spiker in Holmesville, NE. She attended the Consolidated High School in Gage County. She married Donald O. VanLaningham on April 4, 1942; he passed away on October 25, 1959. They moved to Hastings, NE in 1948. She was employed by the Hastings Regional Center for 34 years. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church, in Hastings, NE. Georgia had many fond memories of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Donald and wife Connie of Fort Collins, CO and Thomas of Overton, NV, several grandchildren and one sister, Floriene VanLaningham of Lincoln, NE, and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by, her parents, her husband, Donald, two daughters, Janice Gentert and Barbara Coordes and one grandson Cory Coordes, two sisters, Jacqualyn Hrdlicks, and Bernice Spiker and one son-in-law Jerry Coordes.
