Taylorsville, North Carolina, resident, Forest Jim Rennick, 61, died Monday, November 24, 2008 at the The Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, NE. Graveside service will be Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 2 PM at the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, NE with military rites. There will be no visitation the body was cremated, book signing will take place from Monday, December 1, 2008 thru Friday, Dec 5, 2008 from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Forest was born May 16, 1947 to Forest M and Sylvia (Wilkins) Rennick, in Nelson, NE. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1965. He served in the Marines for 4 years during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Hastings College in 1975. He received his Doctorate from New Mexico State College, Las Cruces, New Mexico in 1982. He was a tenured professor at the Lenoir-Rhyne University is Hickory, North Carolina. He had lived in Taylorsville, North Carolina for 25 years. He was a member of the V.F.W. Club. He is survived by his mother Sylvia Rennick of Hastings, NE, 1 brother Larry of Hastings, NE and 1 sister Kathy Beedle and husband Steve of Hillsboro, OR, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, and 1 infant brother. Memorials may be given to the Forest Jim Rennick Scholarship Fund.
