Former Hastings and Kenesaw resident, Florine (Wolfe) Priebe, 94, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012 at St. Lukes, Good Samaritan Village, Kearney, NE. Services will be Friday, December 7, 2012 at 11 am at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE with Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Thursday, December 6, 2012, from 12 noon to 8 pm at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the family. Florine was born March 24, 1918 in Columbus, NE, to Henry and Josephine (Lammers) Wolfe. She moved to Trumbull, NE as an infant. After graduating from Trumbull High School in 1935, she attended Kearney State College. She taught elementary school for 2 years in a one room school house in Adams County. On November 24, 1938 she married Ewald Priebe in Hastings, where they lived until 1975. While living in Hastings she worked at the Grand Island Cornhusker Ammunition Plant and the Hastings JC Pennys store. She and her husband moved to Loveland, CO in 1975 and returned to NE in 1983 to live in Kenesaw. Her husband died on June 25, 2000. Her hobbies included flower gardening and crocheting afghans for family and friends. She was a life-long Lutheran, being a member of the Zion and Peace Lutheran Churches in Hastings, Ne. She currently was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE. She was proud to be named a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest honor bestowed by the Rotary Club, for service above self. Her faith and the love and care for her family were most important in her life. She is survived by 2 sons, Ron and wife Carolyn of Gibbon, NE and Robert and wife Jennifer of Plattsmouth, NE, one daughter, Marilyn Lutz and husband Paul of Raymore, MO, 4 grandchildren, Deborah McCall, Stacy Priebe, Scott Priebe, and David Priebe, 6 great grandchildren, Nathan, Alaini, Nolan, Tyson, Jonah and Braden, one sister, Lucile Parker of Kenesaw, and one sister-in-law, Dona Wolfe of Fort Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years and her brother, Hubert Wolfe of Ft. Collins, CO.
