June 5, 1920 — February 10, 2017

Holstein resident, Evelyn A. Conner, 96 passed away Friday, February 10, 2017 at Premier Estates, Kenesaw.

Services will be Wednesday, February 15th, 2017 at 10 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Holstein with Rev. Lon Landsmann officiating. Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, Holstein. Visitation will be February 14, 2017 from 5 pm to 7 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Holstein. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw, is in charge of the arrangements.

Memorials may be given to the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Holstein.

Evelyn was born June 5, 1920 to Henry and Hattie (Sasse) Bobzein in Kenesaw, NE. She graduated from the Holstein Public School in 1938, she continued her education at the Kearney State Teachers College graduating in 1958. She married Harmon Conner Sr. on September 18, 1945 in Holstein, Harmon died on April 2, 1985. Evelyn taught school from 1958 to 1961 then became a homemaker.

She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Holstein, St. Paul Dorcas Society, St. Paul Bible Class, and Senior Center in Roseland. She enjoyed Husker Athletics, Bowling and good red beer, fishing, cards, reading and politics. She was a Silver Lake Fan of the year following the grandchildren in school activities. The love of Evelyns life was her church.

She is survived by one son Jim Conner and wife Cheryl of Holstein, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Conner of Lincoln, 8 grandchildren, Alicia Arnold and husband Jim, Heather Greene and husband Scott, Kristi Conner and husband David, Jennifer Rowling and husband Chuck, Courtney Ehmke and husband Jason, Casey Tremayne and husband Jesse, Jordan Conner and wife Lacritia and Molly Connor, 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, one sister, Alice Gomach of Murrieta Springs, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harmon Sr., son Harmon Jr, grandson, Harmon III, one brother and 4 sisters.
