Hastings resident, Eunice O. Newman, 64, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital; Hastings, NE. Services will be Monday, November 10, 2008 at 2 PM at the Brand-Wilson Chapel, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Frank Swinnea officiating. Burial will be at the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 12 noon to 9 PM and up till service time Monday. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Eunice was born, February 5, 1944 to Chester and Mary (Hayes) Haggerty in Holdrege, NE. Her step father was Carlie Padgett. She married John I. Newman on February 12, 1965. Eunice has lived in the Hastings area most of her life. She is survived by husband John of Hastings, NE, 3 daughters, Arla Brophy, of Kearney, NE, Belinda Harris of Springfield, OR. Carla Bourg of Red Cloud, NE, and 2 sons, John L Newman of Kearney, NE and Allen Newman of Hastings, NE. 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Hospice.
