Eleanor L. Anderson

Hastings resident, Eleanor L. Anderson, 97, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Private family services will take place at a later date. Her body was cremated. There will be no visitation. Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE is in charge of the arrangements. Eleanor was born September 18, 1913 to Henry and Emilie (Shubert) Habben in rural Franklin County, NE. She married Earl R. Anderson on February 20, 1935; they lived on a farm near Wilcox, NE. In 1972 they moved to Hastings, NE. Eleanor worked in the cafeteria at the Hastings High School for 9 years. She volunteered at the Martin Luther Thrift Store and at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, both in Hastings, NE. She was recognized for volunteering over 2000 hours at the hospital. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings, NE. She is survived by two children, Gary Anderson and wife Laura of Colorado Springs, CO, and a daughter, Marlene Larsen and husband Kenneth of Hastings, NE, three grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, five sisters, one brother and two grandsons.
