Hastings resident, Eleanor June Clawson, 81, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Mary Lanning Memorial Health Care, Hastings, NE. Services will be Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Lincoln; NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 12 Noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover, Hastings, NE. Eleanor was born August 25, 1930 to Roy James and Buelah (Judson) Miller in Fallsburg, Kentucky. She married Amel Carstensen in 1947; together they ranched in Philip, SD. They later divorced. She married Lyle Clawson in 1968, Lyle passed away in 1985. She had lived in the Hastings area since 1972. Eleanor enjoyed reading, and solving crossword puzzles and above all spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by one son, Norris W. Carstensen and wife Pam of Belding, Michigan. And one daughter, Javae Redinger and husband Bill of Juniata, NE, five grandchildren, Danielle and Jessica VanOcker both of Belding Michigan and Philip Carstensen of Greenville, Michigan, and Emma and Grace Eleanor Redinger, both of Juniata, NE, and two great grandchildren, Jameson and Jaeda VanOcker, one brother, Robert Miller of Lincoln, NE, three sisters, Wanda Fuller of Springfield, MO, Sharon Bowden and Elaine Starkweather both of Lowell, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lyle and four brothers, Gene, Joe, Les, and Ted Miller.
