Eileen W. Robinson

Eileen W. Robinson, 88, of Hastings, Nebraska, died May 25, 2013, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Services will be Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 10am at the First Presbyterian Church in Hastings with the Reverend William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Interment will be in Parkview Cemetery. Her remains were cremated. Family will receive friends one hour before the services at the church. Eileen was born March 21, 1925, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Leonard T. & Nellie Faye (Warner) Waterman. She grew up in Hastings and graduated from Hasting Senior High School in 1943. On January 9, 1944, she married Allen R. Robinson in Hastings, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in 2003. After raising seven children, Eileen worked at Fleming Manufacturing Co. and Chief Ethanol, both in Hastings. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the YWCA and several bridge groups. She was a breast cancer survivor of almost 50 years. Eileen had a very special relationship with all of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with all three generations of them. Survivors include son, Scott (Dawn) Robinson of Hastings; daughters: Susan Rinker of Hastings; Linda Robinson of Germany; and Anne (Barry) Andersen of New Castle, Colorado; twin sister, Irene Lindau of Hastings; sister, Gwen (George) Weis of Alabama; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Lillian Carrico of Rawlins, Wyoming, and Diane Grubbs of Grand Island, Nebraska, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons: Steven, Leonard and David; grandson Joshua Robinson; brother, Alan Waterman, and sister, Jean Batt. Memorials may be given to the family to disburse to various organizations.
