Former Hastings resident, Edith H. Linder, 96 passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at the Hearthstone in York, NE. Services will be Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 10:30 am at the Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010 from 9 AM to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE and one hour prior to service time at the church. Condolences may be sent to www.brandwilson.com. Edith was born August 13, 1913 to Adam G. and Katherine (Ross) Ross in Eldorado, NE. She graduated from Harvard High School, Harvard, NE in 1930. She married Carl W. Linder on August 23, 1936; he passed away September 2, 1980. She has lived in the Hastings area since 1936 moving to York, NE in 2000. Edith was a homemaker and a teachers aide for Alcott Elementary School in Hastings, NE. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Hastings, NE. She was a charter member of the Elks Does, a member of the YWCA, Brownies and Girl Scout Leader all in Hastings, NE. She is survived by 2 daughters, Kayleen Schriner of Hastings, NE and Judy Miller and husband Chuck of York, NE. 1 son, Arvonne Linder and wife Cindy of Grand Island, NE. 4 grandchildren, Joe Wilson, Shane Miller, Shauna Burk and Nelse Linder, 3 step-grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl, 5 sisters and 4 brothers and a son-in-law, Bobby G. Schriner. Memorials may be given to the family.
