Dylan Olivia Tolen

Dylan Olivia Tolen, 10, of Grand Island, walked into Heaven with Jesus on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at CHI Health St Francis Medical Center in Grand Island.



Funeral services will be Thursday, January 18, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at Third City Christian Church, 4100 W. 13 Street. Pastor Scott Jones will be officiating.



The family will greet friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at New Life Community Church, 301 West 2 Street. Memorial funds will go to Childrens Organ Transplant Association for Team Angelica Lemburg. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family.



Dylan was born on June 22, 2007, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings, Nebraska, to Anthony and Melissa (Kohmetscher) Tolen. She grew up in Hastings and Grand Island and was receiving her education at Newell Elementary School. Dylan was in the 4th grade.



She was a member of Third City Christian Church, where she was baptized after receiving Jesus as her Savior at age 6. Dylan was active in Girl Scout Troup #335, In Motion Dance Class at Create 308, and previously Creative Movement Dance Class at Smittys Performing Arts, and Twister Gymnastics in Grand Island.



She had many friends from Childrens Rehab, Nebraska Medicine, Ronald McDonald House, Make-a-Wish Nebraska, and Nebraska Foundation for Visually Impaired Children. She had a special place in her heart for her many friends at Connect After School Ministries. Dylan also loved visiting Central Nebraska Human Society. It was there she found her dogs, Harley and Bruce.



Survivors include her parents,Anthony and Melissa Tolen of Grand Islan; and brother Jacob Tolen of Grand Island, many aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and great grandparents, plus special friend Alex Lammers, and best friend Cassie Lammers.



She was preceded in death by a sibling, Parker Tolen, cousin Lillian Kohmetscher, and several great grand-parents.
