Former Kenesaw resident Dorothy G. Hoffmann, 93, passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings, Village. Services will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 2 PM at the Christ Lutheran Church near Prosser, NE with the Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Concordia Cemetery, near Prosser, NE. Visitation will be Monday, January 9, 2012 from 9 AM to 8 PM at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home in Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church and School, near Prosser, NE or the donors choice. Dorothy was born October 29, 1918 to George and Sophie (Meyer) Ruhter in Hastings, NE. She graduated from the Hastings High School in 1937 and attended Business College in Hastings, NE. She took the civil service examination and was requested to report to Washington D.C. for a position in the head office of the US Air Corp. It was the first office to open at the Pentagon in WWII. After the war she returned to Hastings and worked as a ward secretary at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. She married Theodore Hoffmann on February 20, 1949 he passed away in 1978. She worked at Hogans Sporting Good in Hastings, NE 20 plus years as the secretary/book keeper until her retirement. She was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, near Prosser, NE. She is survived by one daughter, Madeline Kmiec and husband Bill of Juniata, NE. and one son, Timothy Hoffmann and wife Pam of Prosser, NE. 4 grandchildren, Nicole Jacobsen and husband Jeremy of Broken Bow, NE, Natalie Hoffmann and Justin Hoffmann both of Prosser, NE, and Jerry Kmiec of LasVegas, NV, 4 great grandchildren, Halle, Sydney, McKenna, and Liberty Jacobsen all of Broken Bow, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Theodore, sister, Lenora Zeckser and twin brother, Delmont Ruhter.
