Beatrice, NE resident formerly of Kenesaw, NE, Dorothy E. Uden 86, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Bryan LGH Medical Center-East, in Lincoln; NE. Services will be Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10 AM at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE, with the Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, NE. Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 from 12 noon to 5 PM and Sunday, November 21, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9 PM at the Jackson-Wilson Funeral Home, Kenesaw, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Hour or to the family. Dorothy was born March 16, 1924 to H. Martin and Emma (Meyer) Finnigsmier in rural Kenesaw, NE. She was baptized at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE. She graduated from the Kenesaw High School in 1941.She married Elmer Uden on February 8, 1948 at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE, Elmer passed away November 17, 2004. After marriage they lived on a farm east of Kenesaw, NE for 37 years. They moved into Kenesaw, May of 1985. On December 6, 2004 Dorothy moved to the Villa in Hastings, NE and in November of 2010 she moved to Beatrice, NE. Dorothy was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Kenesaw, NE, the Ladies Aid, the Church Quilters, the Kenesaw Senior Center, and the American Legion Auxiliary all in Kenesaw, NE. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Gloria Paben and husband Ron and Carolyn Bennett and husband Dan all of Beatrice, NE, four grandchildren, Jeff Paben and wife Faith of Denver, CO, Ben Paben, Grant Bennett, both of Beatrice, NE and Virginia Bennett of Centennial, CO, and two great grandchildren, Molly and Kade Paben, one sister Ruth Taylor and one brother Dale Finnigsmier both of Kenesaw, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer,an infant daughter, and an infant son, one sister, Waunneta Uden, and one brother Gilbert Finnigsmier, sister-in-law, Marie Finnigsmier and brother-in-law, Lawrence Uden.
