Doris L. Wilcox of Seward, formerly of Hastings, Nebraska, died on Monday, July 28, 2008, in Lincoln, Nebraska. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Brand-Wilson Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008 with the Rev. Matt Fowler officiating. Due to her wishes to be cremated, there will not be a graveside service or visitation. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Doris was born in Hazard, Nebraska to John and Gladys Erazim on January 19, 1921. She graduated from Hazard Nebraska High School in 1938. Doris married Robert T. Wilcox on June 22, 1941 in Kearney, Nebraska, a marriage that lasted for over 67 years. Doris worked for the Hastings Daily Tribune from 1954 to 1982 when she retired after 27 years. Later she went back to work for Herbergers where she worked another 9 years until she retired permanently. Doris and Robert loved being together. They loved to dance and were excellent dancers. It was a pastime that they enjoyed for many years until her health made it difficult to continue. Doris is survived by her husband, Robert, sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sandra Wilcox of Holdrege, Nebraska, David and Shirley Wilcox of Lincoln, Nebraska and Jon and Judy Wilcox of Seward, Nebraska and her brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Catherine Erazim of Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Doris is survived by 9 grandchildren: Lisa Wilcox, Julie Skiles (Sean), Ryan Wilcox (Jan(c)e), Eric Wilcox (Corrin), Amy McCoy (Dan), Christen Wilcox (Anthony), Jill Wilcox, Jon Wilcox, and Cole Hayner (Heather). Doris had 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bob, and one grandchild, Becky Lerma.
