Doris F. Peet

January 16, 1925 — August 29, 2015

Kenesaw resident, Doris F. Peet, 90, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015 Mount Carmel Nursing Home in Kearney, NE.



Memorial service will be Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 10:30 am at the Kenesaw Presbyterian Church with Pastor Beth Fotinos officiating. Private family burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery. There will be no visitation; Doriss wishes were to be cremated. Condolences may be sent to www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Kenesaw is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to the Kenesaw Fire Department or the Kenesaw Senior Center.



Doris was born January 16, 1925 to Clyde R. and Velma E. (Clark) Pritchard in Kenesaw, NE. She graduated from the Kenesaw High School and taught school for 1 year in the Kenesaw area. She married Raymond A. Peet on November 16, 1968 in Hastings, Raymond passed away July 18, 2001. Doris retired from JC Pennys, Hastings after 30 years.



She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Kenesaw and was the church secretary for years. She was also a member of the Womans Group, the Kenesaw Ladies Auxiliary and the Kenesaw Senior Center. She loved gardening, knitting, roller skating and camping.



She is survived by two sons, Rene (Sally) Colon of Kenesaw, and Tony (Joan) Colon of Hastings and one daughter, Sonia (John) Sahling of Kearney, 7 grandchildren Bryan Sahling, Robyn (Kevin) Wise, Tracy Winters, Jolene (Mike) Grier, Taylor Colone, and Justin (Sherry) Colon, 11 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, one brother, Don (Verda) Pritchard, of Kenesaw and numerous nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray, and one sister, Shirley Schenk
