Constance L. Connie Legler, 75, of Grand Island died Friday, January 4, 2013, at her home. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday at Apfel Funeral Home with the Rev. Sylvia Karlsson officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will be in Dundee, Minnesota at a later date. To honor Connies wishes, her body was cremated. There will not be a public visitation. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family. Connie Legler was born August 26, 1937 in Worthington, Minnesota the daughter of Russell Wayne & Lucille Edna (Manuel) Olson. She grew up in Granite Falls, Minnesota and received her education from Granite Falls High School graduating with the class of 1955. She attended Augustana College in Minnesota for 1 year. She was united in marriage to Marlin Legler on April 6, 1957 in Granite Falls, Minnesota. The couple made their home in Grand Island, where she was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Grand Island, NE Survivors include her husband, Marlin Legler of Grand Island, three daughters & son in law, Lori & Wayne Jacobs of Bismark, North Dakota, Julie Legler of Hastings, Nebraska, Vicki Grandgenett of Wahoo, Nebraska one son, Michael Legler of Colonial Beach, Virginia, six grandchildren: Garret Jacobs, Alexis Jacobs, Courtney Legler, Shandah Mensik, Meagen Mensik, Samantha Grandgenett. Brothers or Sisters: She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell & Lucille Olson; 1 infant son, and 1 infant daughter.
