Cindy Bethune

LuCinda (Cindy) Bethune, 64, of Grand Island died March 23, 2018, at Lakeview Care Center in Grand Island. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Apfel Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Cindy was born on May 9, 1953, in Kearney, NE to Raymond and Doris (Bly) Dubbs. She grew up in Grand Island and graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1972.



On March 8, 1980, she was united in marriage to Roy L. Bethune in Grand Island. The couple made their home in Grand Island, and Cindy worked as a nurses aide at the Grand Island Veterans Home. Later she worked at Rainbow Bakery for many years and the worked the snack counter at Westside Lanes. After she retired she volunteered at the Grand Generation Center.



Cindy and Roy loved to bowl and go to casinos. She attended and enjoyed many music concerts with her children. She had a love of dogs and cats and had many pets.



Survivors include children: Jessica (Jeff) McCall of Grand Island and Jeremy Bethune of Grand Island; sister: Jerenne (John) Garroutte of Grand Island; and many nieces and nephews.



Cindy was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy in 2007; daughter: Jennifer Sue Bethune; brother: Max Raymond Dubbs; and sister: Ramona McCumber.
