Bill Bayles

October 26, 1923 — May 10, 2014

Hastings resident Bill Bayles, 90, passed away May 10, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, Nebraska. Memorial Services will be Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at All Faiths Chapel at the Good Samaritan Village in Hastings with Pastor Johnson officiating; Burial will be later.

Bill was born October 26, 1923 in Adams County, Nebraska, to Loren E. Bayles and Laura L. (Mason) Bayles. He attended Hastings High School and General Motors Accounting School. He married Lucille Perkins in Hastings in 1948, later divorced and married Lois D. Sieloff of Hastings, January 15, 1961.

Bill was employed by Architects and Engineers at the Naval Ammunition Depot from 1941-1945. Hanson Pontiac-Cadillac from 1945-1950 as General Manager, later he started working at Architectural & Engineering at the Grand Island Ordinance Plant from 1950-1960. Hastings College and Stewart Plumbing and Heating from 1960-1979. After he retired, he worked at Graces Locksmith Services from 1990-2000. Bill was a member of the first American Legion baseball team in Hastings and the Eagles Lodge 592 in Hastings he was a Golden Eagle.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Herbert, Darrell and Robert, sisters, Marian, Mary Vee, Marcia and a great granddaughter, Stephanie.

Bills survivors include, his wife, Lois, daughters, Patty (Steve) Jacobi of Hastings, Arlene Karr of Juniata, Shelly Boden of Lincoln, and a sister, Alice Haase of Hastings; grandchildren, Jason, Ryan, & Brittany Jacobi, Heather and Kaitlyn Karr, Bret, Zachary and Brandi Boden; great grandchildren; Madison, Alli, Joven Jacobi, Braelyn, Evey, Leighla Boden, Kaden Bumgardner, and Kaleb Boden.
