Beverly L. Burson

Beverly L Burson, 70 of Grand Island, died Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at Good Samaritan Society, Wood River, NE.



Services will be Saturday, August 11th 10:30am at Peace Lutheran Church, Grand Island with Pastor Mike Reiners officiating. Burial will be in Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, NE. Visitation hours will be Friday, August 10th 5-7pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is caring for the family.



Beverly L. Burson was born, February 5, 1948 in Hastings, NE to Edward and Lorraine (Einspahr) Pittz. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Holstein, NE. She grew up and attended Holstein High School and Joseph College of Beauty in Hastings, NE.



She was united in marriage for 45 years to Wayne D. Burson, married November 11, 1972 in Holstein, NE. The couple made their home in Grand Island, NE where they raised their three daughters. After a few years of being a hair stylist, she made the decision to stay home and raise their daughters. Beverly opened and ran a home daycare for 30 years becoming a second mom to many children.



Beverly loved gardening, working in her yard, sewing, cooking, spending time with family, and coloring and playing Legos with the kids. She loved Nebraska sports; watching football, volleyball, and basketball. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island.



Those left to cherish her memories include her husband, Wayne D. Burson of Grand Island, their daughters & son-in-laws; Wendy & Rich Killingsworth of Gretna, NE, Tonya & Chad Shriner of Grand Island, NE, and Trisha & Braden Manolidis of Grand Island, her seven grandchildren; Daniel, Tyler, Luca, Cooper, Makenna, Kingston and Jasani, two siblings and their spouses; Vaughn (Cindy) Pittz and Shirley Pittz (John Stolpman), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Lorraine Pittz, and grandson Braxton Killingsworth.
