Beverly Ann Granstrom

Holstein resident, Beverly Ann Granstrom,77 passed away, Friday, March 1, 2019 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare.



Service will be Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 10:30 am at Grace United Methodist Church, Holstein, with Rev. Dr. Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be at Holstein Cemetery, Holstein. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 3 pm to 7 pm with family present from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.apfelfuneralhome.com. Apfel Funeral Home, Hastings, is in charge of the arrangements.



Memorials may be given to the Grace United Methodist Church, Holstein, or the Holstein Cemetery Fund.



Bev was born January 15, 1942 to Sidney and Elsie (Shilling) Allison in Ord, NE.

She attended school in North Loup Scotia graduating in 1960. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1964 at Kearney State in education. She married John Granstrom on July 25, 1965 in Scotia, NE. Bev taught Home Ec at the Northwest School in Grand Island and Holstein, retiring in 1968 to be a homemaker and raise her children.



Bev loved her family and enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s events and activities. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Holstein.



She is survived by her husband John of Holstein, daughter Kathy (Garth) Wentworth of Inavale, and son J.J. (Jody) Granstrom of Holstein, five grandchildren, Megan and Maria Ockinga and Samantha, Allison and Max Granstrom, and one brother, Robert Allison of Grand Island.



She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister in law, Fran Allison.
