After her retirement from the YMCA, Betty became enthusiastically involved in the local Kiwanas organization, serving as president of a local chapter and then taking on the responsibilities of District President in 1997. In 2011, she and Wally had relocated to Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul and were blessed to have made many good friends while living there who remained constant throughout their time at Matelyn.
