At our Alberding-Wilson Location in Harvard, NE. Harvard resident, Bertha F. Bartlett, 96, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Harvard Rest Haven, Harvard, NE. Services will be Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Harvard United Methodist Church, Harvard, NE with the Rev. Dale Coates officiating. Burial will be in the Harvard Cemetery, Harvard, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 2008, from 12 noon to 9 PM with family present from 7 PM to 9 PM at the Alberding-Wilson Funeral Home and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Condolences may be sent to www.brandwilson.com. Bertha was born, July 27, 1911 to James E. and Allie L. (Vargason) Gordon in Newport, NE. She attended rural school near Mariaville, NE and moved to Harvard in 1942. She married Ora Buddy Bartlett on May 26, 1928 in Winner, SD. She was employed at the Navy Ammunition Depot during the war and after the war and then she worked at the Red & White Store in Aurora, NE. Her husband and her farmed in the Aurora and Spalding, NE areas until his death in 1976, she then moved back to Harvard in the fall. She was a member of the Harvard United Methodist Church and United Methodists Womans Club, the VFW Auxiliary, and the Harvard Womans Club all in Harvard, NE. She volunteered at the Red Cross Bloodmobile and the Harvard Rest Haven and delivered Meals on Wheels in Harvard, NE. She is survived by 1 daughter, Althea Bugay and husband Dick of Kearney, NE, 1 son: Clifford and wife Phyllis of Hastings, NE, 8 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren, and 8 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 brother Lyle Gordon of Holmen, Wisc She was preceded in death by, her husband Buddy, 2 sisters, Ida and Neva, and 4 brothers, Burton, Ivan, Reno and Willis. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Harvard United Methodist Church or the Harvard Rest Haven.
