Hastings resident, Anna P. Hoagland, 97, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Perkins Pavilion, Good Samaritan Society, Hastings-Village. Services will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 10:30 AM at the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE with the Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Visitation will be 12 noon to 9 PM Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Anna was born May 25, 1912 to Rev. Rudolph and Anna M. (Duesing) Moehring in Sutton, NE. She attended elementary school in Otoe, NE and graduated from High School in Ellis, Kansas. She attended college at the Midland College in Fremont, NE, the Hastings Presbyterian College in Hastings, NE and the Kearney College in Kearney, NE where she received her masters degree. She married Fred Lacalli in 1950, he passed away in 1965. In 1967 she married Harry G. Wilson, he passed away in 1987. She married Louis Hoagland in 1993 he passed away in 1999. Anna taught school in rural schools for 3 years, and then high school in Sutton, Cambridge, Norfolk and at the Hastings Senior High, in Nebraska and Kansas for 16 years. She was a member of the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Church Women, past president of the WWI Auxiliary, a member of the MTU Railroad Auxiliary, the Eastern Star Kensington and the American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by many step children, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. 1 sister-in-law, Joreen Moehring, of Pittsburg, PA and 1 brother-in-law, Lowell Gross of Salina, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 husbands, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Memorials may be given to the First St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Hastings, NE.
