Ann M. Hinrichs, 70, of Grand Island died Wednesday, April 10, 2013 in Omaha, Nebraska Services will be at 10:30 am Monday, April 15, 2013, at Peace Lutheran Church in Grand Island with Rev. Michael Reiners officiating. Burial will at Grand Island City Cemetery. Visitation hours will be Sunday. April 14. 2013 from 4 to 6 pm at Peace Lutheran Church, Grand Island. Apfel Funeral Home is serving the family. Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Foundation. Ann M. Hinrichs was born December 2, 1942 in Leon, Iowa the daughter of Elmer & Oleta (Higday) Lamphiear. She grew up in Hastings graduating from Hastings High School with the class of 1960. She received her degree in Pharmacy from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where she was one of two female members in the class of 1965. She was united in marriage to Marlin D. Hinrichs, August 12, 1966 at Hastings, Nebraska. Lastly the couple lived in Grand Island where she was employed by WalMart Pharmacy in Hastings, NE. She also lived in Dickinson, North Dakota, Oakley and Colby Kansas where she was employed at various pharmacies. Ann was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Grand Island. She enjoyed music and was a life long piano player. She loved her work and never knew a stranger. She had a zest for life and her presence will be missed by all. Her gentle words of wisdom with a healthy dose of laughter inspired her daughter everyday and she will tie a yellow ribbon around the proverbial Old Oak Tree waiting to welcome her beloved husband. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Marlin Hinrichs of Grand Island, daughter, Sarah Hinrichs of Hastings, NE, sisters: Kay Peterson, Susan Lamphiear and Julie Lamphiear.
