February 21, 1925 — October 5, 2006

Hastings Resident, Albert A. Sidlo, 81, died Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital; Hastings, NE. Services will be Monday, October 16, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE with Dr. William Deahl and Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial will be in Cloverton Cemetery, Bladen; NE. Book signing will be Sunday, October 15, 2006 from 12 noon to 9 PM at the Brand-Wilson Funeral Home, Hastings, NE. Condolences may be sent to the family from www.brandwilson.com. Mr. Sidlo was born February 21, 1925 to Bohumil Frank and Elizabeth (Strobl) Sidlo in Amboy, NE. He attended Amboy grade school and graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1944. He was a junior fireman in Red Cloud in high school and was junior fire captain in 1943. He served in the United States Army from July 19, 1946 to January 13, 1948 stationed at Louisville, Kentucky. He married Wanda Lewis in 1951. He was a Hastings City Fireman from 1953 until his retirement in 1975. He has lived in Hastings most of his life. He was a 50 year member of the First United Methodist Church, Hastings, NE. He enjoyed people, pets, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is served by his wife Wanda of Hastings, 3 sons, Michael and wife Cyndie of Hastings, NE, Randy and wife Alicia of Littleton, CO and Kirby and wife Angela of Astoria, Oregon. 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. 1 brother, Duane Sidlo of Red Cloud, NE and 1 sister Mary Wittwer of Hastings, NE and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 1 sister. Memorials may be given to the family to be used to support the Cloverton Cemetery, of rural Bladen.
